Try this simple but delicious nut-free recipe:

equipment:

food warmer / bain marie / dehydrator / lowest heat on the hob etc to melt the fats

silicon mould / plastic container

mixing bowl

ingredients:

25g coconut oil/butter

25g raw  cacao butter

50g raw chocolate powder or cocoa powder

50g lucuma powder

30ml / 2 Tbs agave syrup, maple syrup or Sweet Freedom

½ tsp vanilla extract or the seeds of a vanilla bean to taste

method

Gently melt the fats using your chosen method.

Place the chocolate and lucuma powders in a bowl and mix together.

Pour in the melted fats and blend with the powders.

Add the sweetener and vanilla and mix until everything is well combined.

Press the mixture into your silicon mould or plastic container, and place in the fridge or freezer to set (about 15 minutes in the freezer and 30 minutes in the fridge).

flavouring the truffles:

Try adding spices such as cayenne, chili powder or cinnamon.

Add a combination of cinnamon, pinch of nutmeg and orange zest.

Add a couple of drops of a good quality essential oil of peppermint or cardamom.

variations:

Try replacing some of the powders with other superfood type powders such as raw carob, mesquite, maca or purple corn extract.
